Title: The Tactic Of Fleeing
Scriptures: Proverbs 4:27; 1 Corinthians 6:18-20, Genesis 39:11-12
This lesson deals with one of the greatest tactics when it comes to dealing with temptation, or finding out that we are in situations, circumstances, atmospheres, or are being offered indecent proposal‘s. This deals with the tactic of fleeing. Now to some people fleeing may seem weak or a sign of a lack of courage, but this is a tactic that can actually save us from going into sin, or being swept away in a current of consequences that could possibly bring great pain and regret to our lives. This lesson deals with our a personal responsibility in REMOVING OURSELVES from any form of evil. NOTE 📝: It is not evil‘s “job” to remove itself from us, but instead it is our responsibility to remove ourselves from evil (Prov. 4:27). The Lord intimately knows and understands the weakness and frailty of our flesh, even more than we do. And instead of trying to be “super Christian” and show how strong we are by allowing ourselves to be in the presence of sin thinking we won’t be caught up in it, God says to flee! This is what we see that Joseph did in the book of Genesis. Whether it’s an indecent proposal we get from someone else, some kind of temptation that is trying to seduce us from the paths of righteousness, or even a site online that we may have accidentally clicked on and gained access to -,if it is not right before God, we must flee.
Discussion Questions:
(1) In being completely honest, are there some things that you know are not right before God, yet you feel or find yourself drawn to, or curious about them?
(2) Has there ever been a time when others around you, even close friends, have tried to encourage or entice you to do something that you knew was not right before God? (3) Would you find it hard to walk away from something that you knew was not right before God, even if everyone around you thought it was perfectly fine?

Title: Your INNER, Determines Your OUTER
Scriptures: Psalm 19:14; Psalm 104:34; Psalm 119:15; Philippians 4:8; James 1:13-15
This lesson deals with the root of where all of our actions, endeavors, and agendas come from. What we focus on, meditate on, and what occupies the most space and time in our thoughts - is WHO and WHAT we BECOME. Many followers of Christ think that simply reading God‘s word and knowing God‘s word is enough, but the strength of knowing and studying the word of God, what makes it become part of us is when we MEDITATE on it. We don’t simply meditate on the word of God, we also meditate on the things of God. In other words, we meditate on those things that are pleasing and right before the Lord. And what we have to realize is that God although God sees all of our actions, yet His focus also is on what is happening in our hearts and in our minds.
DISCUSSION QUESTIONS:
(1) Outside of church, how often is Christ on your mind? Do you actually consider Him in the words you say, and what you do during the week?
(2) Not including school, what would you say takes up the most space in your mind, what do you feel you focus on the most, or think about the most?
(3) When it comes to studying God‘s word, do you read it just to say that you’ve read it, and let it pass from your thoughts, or do you actually take time to think about what it says and how it applies in regards to your life?

Topic: Is There Such Thing As A COLDHEARTED Christian?

Scriptures - 1 Corinthians 13:4-7; Colossians 3:14; Ephesians 4:31-32

This lesson deals with the heart of what the attitude of a Follower of Christ should be. Nothing is more crucial than a follower of Christ living and walking in the love of God that is expressed in how they treat other people whether they are Christians or non-Christians. That being said, the title poses a very crucial question, can a Christian be cold hearted? The answer to this question is yes, which is a sad reality when it comes to many believers. If a person isn’t daily submitting to Christ, allowing the Holy Spirit to soften and transform their mind in their hearts on a daily basis, they can bear the name of Christ, but yet be devolving from living in the character of Christ. It is a sad testimony to be someone who says they are on their way to heaven, but in how they treat others they are mean as hell.

Topic: It’s THEIR Problem, Not MINE!

Scriptures: Matthew 5:23-24

This lesson deals with not ignoring conflict between ourselves and others. This is especially true in regards to believers. God is so serious about this until, if we don’t handle it properly, it can negatively affect our very relationship with God. This lesson encourages us to not ignore the issues other people may have with us or vice versa, but too lovingly, and directly, deal with them to try to find resolution with others to keep the unity in the body of Christ.
